CLAMPS WITH LOGGER FUNCTION
CPL Series

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

CPL Series are ammeter clamps that measure, integrate and record on memory. The current is measured in true RMS value. Those are provided with an internal memory to hold average, maximum and minimum values of current for each period according to pre-set conditions.

Available clamp CPL types are:
• CPL-500, clamp of 500 A a.c.
• CPL-1000, clamp of 1000 A a.c.
• CPL-2000, clamp of 2000 A a.c.

Clamps have an internal real time clock, program holding memory and an internal 512 kbytes memory for data storage actions.

Power supply of the clamp is directly done from the own current of the clamp se when that is higher than a certain level (self-supplied). However, external power supply is also available.

Every time that the current clamp exceeds its pre-set operation threshold, this stores an initial record together with the date and time of the event. From this moment, the clamp will hold on memory data about current according to the previously user-configured period and conditions.

User-configured parameters:
The clamp is connected via RS-232 to a PC for both clamp setup and data retrieval processes.

Programmable parameters are following ones:
• VALUE to be held on memory: MAXIMUM, MINIMUM and/ or AVERAGE (from one to three)
• TIME TRIGGER: Beginning time / Ending time of measurement process
• AMPS TRIGGER: Value of amperes to be reached to hold the data on memory
• Full scale of the clamp
• Setting of the MAINS frequency: From 40 to 70 Hz
• MEMORY type: Linear or circular
• Clock time setting
• Recording period:
    - Measuring and recording each cycle (20 ms / 50 Hz)
    - From 1 to 14 400 seconds

Recording types
Depending on the period and the trigger user-configured, diverse recording types will be available:
• Cycle-to-cycle
• Averaged valued (1...14 400 s)

Some examples of recording types would be the next ones:
• The clamp continuously measures beyond a certain value
• Measurement within a time interval: Periodical measurements are done from certain time to another one

Software
All saved data can be either numerical or graphically analyzed by means of a program running under Windows environment.
