AR.4 SERIES / AR.4 M, AR.4 MP (WITH PRINTER), AR.4 RS NETWORK ANALYZERS

MAIN FEATURES:
The AR.4 is a network analyzer that measures, displays, and records in memory the main electrical parameters of a single or three phase network (balanced or unbalanced).

Besides, the instrument is very flexible and can be reprogrammed by means of a card to work as another type of analyzer like transient events monitor, disturbances monitor or other programs that are being developed.

FEATURES WORKING AS A NETWORK ANALYZER:
Applications:
The AR.4 as a network-harmonic analyzer measures more than 30 electrical parameters that periodically saves in memory which allows:

  • To reduce electrical costs by optimizing the contract with the power utility
  • To calculate the capacitor bank to correct the power factor
  • Perform studies about the quality of the power supply. Evolution of the overvoltage/undervoltage (average values of 1 sec.)
  • Perform studies about the evolution of harmonics to detect/prevent their harmful effects

Display:
The instrument allows to display the instantaneous, maximum and minimum values of all the parameters from all the phases (Table 1).

Memorized values:
The instrument has two operation modes:

  • a) Network analyzer mode: Periodically records in memory the measured electrical parameters (Table 1) that further can be printed out through an optional thermal printer type PT-42 or sent to a PC for analysis actions (see software).
  • b) Harmonic analyzer mode: Periodically records in memory the measured electrical parameters (Table 1) and the voltage and current waveforms that can be sent later on to a PC to see waveforms and calculate the harmonics (see next page).

D.C. channels:
Two analog input channels (0 to 2.5 V d.c.) are available for the analysis of any external parameter.

AR.4 + Printer PT-42 N (optional):
Memorized data can be printed out through the thermal printer model PT-42 in a numerical and/or graphical mode.

AR.4 + Memory card + MCS-1:
In the AR.4 M and AR.4 MP types memorized data can be stored in a memory card and through the MCS-1 can be sent to a PC to be further analyzed.

The AR.4 RS cannot sent data to a memory card. Data is sent to the PC through the RS-232 port.

SOFTWARE AVAILABLE:
Two software programs are available: CIR-VISION and CIR-TARIF, both are programs for Windows that can help manage data from the AR.4.

CIR-VISION:

  • Numerical display of all the electrical parameters measured by the AR.4 (Fig. 1).
  • Display of the time evolution of any of the measured parameters attached in Table 1 (Fig. 2).
  • Display of voltage and current wave forms (Fig. 3).
  • Display and calculate the harmonics spectrum of the voltage and current wave forms. It calculates up to the 15th harmonic.
  • Possibility of exporting to other software (Excel, Lotus, etc.)
CIR-TARIF:
  • Display of the time evolution of the three-phase voltage.
  • Display of the time evolution of the three-phase reactive energy power.
  • Display of the time evolution of the three-phase active energy power.
  • Determination of the consumption during peak, plane, and valley hours in order to make simulations to improve the bill from the power utility.
Developing specific programs to simulate electric energy bills from any country might be considered on request.

REPROGRAMMING:
The AR.4M and AR.4MP types, besides working as network analyzers with a card, can be reprogrammed to work as other types of analyzers; for example, a transient event analyzer or a disturbance analyzer.

The AR.4 RS cannot be reprogrammed.
